CLALL Glossary of Terms
Board of Directors - volunteers who are nominated and elected to provide direction for our league.
Board meetings are held once a month and are open to anyone interested in learning more about our league.
City Series - at the conclusion of the CLALL regular season and tournanments, the top two teams from the Major A, Major B and Minors divisions will participate in the City Series.
The City Series features the two best teams from each league (CL American, CL Continental and CL National). It is a double elimination tournament (any team that loses two games is eliminated) to determine the Crystal Lake city champion in each division.
Field Cleanup Days are scheduled for Saturday mornings before the season begins and then again after the season is over.
These work sessions are used to set up our baseball fields for the upcoming season. Fall field cleanup is necessary to prepare our facilites and equipment for winter.

League Age is the term used to indicate how old a player is for the upcoming season.
April 30th is the cutoff date used by Little League to determine a player's "League Age".
A player who turns 8 on April 30th (or before) will play as an 8 year old for the season.
A player who turns 8 on May 1 (or after) will play as a 7 year old for the season (because they were 7 on April 30th).
The player's age on April 30th is their League Age.
Little League is the governing organization under which Crystal Lake American is a chartered member.
Little League provides the foundation of rules and safety guidelines for our league, in additon to determining the geographical boundries for our league.
Parent Night is a one hour meeting where parents will learn about our league, meet team managers and board members .
Due to limited seating, Parent Night is for parents only (players do not attend). See the

Player Agent member of the Board who is responsible for ensuring that our league and our players conform to the guidelines set forth by Little League.
Tryouts are held for 11 and 12 year old players.
All 11 and 12 year olds who are not drafted in the Major West division (formerly Major A) will play in the Major East (formerly Major B) division.
12 year olds who played on a Major West team last year, will play on the same Major West team this year.
